MTV's VMA Nominations Announced

MTV announced this year's nominees for the VMA's (Video Music Award). Lady Gaga and Beyonce have nine nominations a piece, Britany Spears has seven, Kanye West, Eminem and Coldplay have four each.

The nominees for Video Of The Year are:

Lady Gaga- Poker Face

Beyonce- Single Ladies

Britany Spears- Womanizer

Eminem- We Made You

Kanye West- Love Lockdown

Fans can start voting vote through September 13th at http://www.vma.mtv.com/.

The award show will be held on September 13th in New York and Russell Brand will return as host.

Mariah Carey's New CD: Music & Ad's

When Mariah releases new her album (Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel) on September 15th, she will be the first artist to include lifestyle ads in a CD booklet.

Mariah is partnering with Elle Magazine to create a 34 page booklet which will include ads from Elizabeth Arden, Angel Champagne and the Bahamas Board Of Tourism.

If this product model is successful and most importantly profitable, Island Def Jam (Mariah's label) will consider placing ads in the CD booklets for Rihanna, Bon Jovi, Kanye West and others.

New Modest Mouse Video

A Modest Mouse video directed by Heath Ledger is set to premiere today on MySpace.com. The video is for the song King Rat and the concept was designed to raise awareness of the plight of whales hunted illegally off the coast of Australia.

Heath passed away before the video could be completed, so the project was finished by his partners at the film company The Masses.
