The band just returned from a cross-country tour and performed at a sold-out show at the Bowery Ballroom last week in NYC with the Harlem Shakes. After a set of Paste/WOXY-presented New England dates with Roman Candle and a performance at the Gothamist showcase at the Northside Festival, the band will be working on some upcoming videos and have a tour of Egypt(!) in the works. Motel Motel's blend of alt-country and raspy folk rock caught on with writers and fans almost instantly, after the band's self-released EP started circulating this past year. New York Press, The Huffington Post, New York Post, and The L Magazine designated them as a "must-hear-band," SPIN recently declared the band's single, "Coffee," a "Song You Must Hear Now!" and BrooklynVegan proclaimed a "willingness to gamble it all on these five gifted musicians." Wired also did a feature on the band's DIY ethics.
